My name is Kathy Freeland, and I was the recipient of the FUN scholarship for a class at ANA’s famous Summer Seminar. I had chosen Advanced Military Numismatics before I even wrote the scholarship application because I had research to conduct and writing to do on a publication that will hopefully be coming out by next April.

The Tampa Bay Coin Club donated two of their club medals to the Money Museum at FUN this year. The first medal struck in this commemorative series was in 2013 and celebrates the 500th Anniversary of Florida’s discovery by Ponce De Leon. ...

Three rare coins certified by Numismatic Guaranty Corporation® (NGC®) each broke $1 million at last week’s Heritage Auctions’ FUN Show sale. The elusive 1787 Brasher Doubloon, graded NGC MS 63, led the sale with a price realized of nearly $4.6 million. It is the finest certified example of the first gold coin struck in the United States.
