Two years ago, you, the ANA membership, chose to elect me as one of seven new governors.
For this trust, I am both honored and truly grateful!
The current Board has had to deal with a
full plate of issues, such as restoring membership confidence and trust in the Board; listening better to the member; dealing with a myriad of
time-consuming lawsuits; cutting financial waste and developing a realistic balanced budget; hiring a new executive director; expanding educational
outreach programs online; making the lamp of knowledge, again, our official seal; recognizing hobby volunteers at all levels, etc. In other words,
twofold: ³Saving the ANA First² and ³Keeping Our Membership in the Highest Regard²!
Any Board of any group is not perfect! This
current Board has helped turn the ANA around. We are on the road to recovery, but, there is still more to be accomplished before our Association is
completely righted.
Therefore, I have decided to seek reelection. I would like to see the task through to
completion, namely resolve our legal matters, revise the bylaws, reinvigorate the national volunteer representative program, provide more member
benefits and resources online through the Florence Schook School of Numismatics, and put more fun into our Association and hobby. If successful, I
will again strive to work diligently on behalf of all of our membership.
Yes, I am truly passionate and energized
when it comes to sharing our numismatic hobby and the benefits of belonging to the ANA. I have been an active hobbyist for nearly 40 years. Currently,
I chair the Education Committee, which has the primary focus to assist our ANA in carrying out the educational mission of our charter. I am a retired
educator/administrator still retained on a contract in Los Angeles.
I have received 10 ANA awards, more than 25
from national and regional associations and am a Numismatic News Numismatic Ambassador (1988). I also am a prolific writer, speaker,
youth activities promoter and belong to 81 clubs. I am ready to serve you, our membership, again and would appreciate your
consideration.
