Nebraska currently taxes sales of numismatic items and
bullion. On October 17th and
October 18th, the Nebraska State Legislature
Tax Modernization Committee will be holding two final public
hearings on the possibility of changing that. Those in the Omaha
Area are encouraged to attend the meeting on Thursday
October 17th. Those in the Lincoln area are
encouraged to attend the meeting at the State Capitol
on Friday October 18th. Those outside
Omaha or Lincoln are encouraged to attended a meeting that is
convenient or if your state senator is on the committee, you are
encouraged to contact them about the importance of removing the
sales tax on rare coins and bullion.
This is an important turn of events in Nebraska and for our
hobby. Please show your support.
