Money Museum to participate in Smithsonian's Museum Day Live! event

Money Museum | ANA Official Post | Jake Sherlock

The Edward C. Rochette Money Museum is proud to once again participate in the Smithsonian Magazine’s Museum Day Live! event on Saturday, Sept. 27. This 10th-annual event is a great opportunity to check out the Money Museum and all that it has to offer free of charge.

Smithsonian Magazine defines Museum Day Live! as such: “For one day only, participating museums across the United States, with a wide range of diverse exhibitions, will emulate the spirit of the Smithsonian Institution’s Washington DC-based facilities, which offer free admission everyday, and open their doors for free to those who download a Museum Day Live! ticket.”

To claim your free ticket to The Money Museum, go to the Museum Day Live! page and register with your email address. Patrons can then choose one participating museum to visit for free and download a ticket good for two people.

September 27 is a great day to bring the kids to the Money Museum as well. Sam Gelberd, the ANA’s numismatic educator, will be leading a class on how coins are made in the Kids Zone. Classes are free, we just ask that you register beforehand so we know how many students to expect.

If visiting the Money Museum on Sept. 27 doesn’t work for you, remember that the Money Museum offers free admission on the third Saturday of every month, including on Saturday, Sept. 20.
