National Coin Week challenge winners announced

The ANA sponsored three contests as part of this year’s National Coin Week: the Video Trivia Challenge, the Club Trivia Challenge and the Young Numismatist Coin Design Contest. All three contests centered on the theme “Building Tomorrows: Inspiration and Innovation at World’s Fairs.”

National Coin Week Video Trivia Challenge winners:
Grand Prize: Jake Vinson won a 1915-S Panama-Pacific Exposition half dollar.
Second Place: Robert Maisch won a 2015 American Eagle one-tenth ounce gold $5 proof coin.
Third Place: Derek Steichen won a 2015 America the Beautiful silver proof set and regular proof set.

National Coin Week Club Trivia Challenge winners:
Grand Prize: The Metro East Coin and Currency Club (Illinois) won a 1915-S Panama-Pacific Exposition half dollar.
Second Place: The Dallas Coin Club won a 2015 American Eagle one-tenth ounce gold $5 proof coin.
Third Place: The Cincinnati Numismatic Association won a 2015 America the Beautiful silver proof set and regular proof set.
Other clubs earning a perfect score in the challenge were the Cedar Rapids Coin Club (Iowa), Milwaukee Numismatic Society, Northwest Coin Club (Minnesota) and Royal Oak Coin Club (Michigan).
 
The winners of the Young Numismatist Coin Design Contest are Maria Matys and Avery Batson. Both won an 1892 World's Columbian Exposition half dollar.
