Possible New Auction Record!
When the May edition of The Numismatist came, I read somewhere that the guy (Weitzman) who owns the 1933 double eagle is going to auction it. It also said he is going to auction the rarest stamp in the world, and another rare stamp. People estimate that the double eagle will sell for 10 to 15 million dollars, breaking the auction record. It will take place on June 8. Weitzman is 79 years old. He said: "No one takes a U-Haul to the cemetery." He says he's going to donate the proceeds to various charities.
