Star notes
Hi Jim here,
I'm new here so if I do sometimes wrong please point it out.
My question is....
Has anyone consider collecting star notes? I just started looking into them.
A lot of them are not very rare, but if u go to http://www.mycurrencycollection.com/reference/star-notes/lookup
U can check them.
I found 3 very rare notes. Two of them have numbers in sequence one was made right after the other.
Any input on this subject?
Jim

Star notes are wonderful to collect. Finding them in circulation are just a bonus. Locating older star notes can be quite expensive, but very worthwhile.

There are so many reasons to collect. Those reasons even change over time, for many people, the longer they remain in the hobby. The phrase repeated in the answers here, "Collect what you like", is the most appropriate. Just like in life, enjoy the rare and the beautiful when they come your way. But don't be afraid to reach out pet an ugly dog now and then too. Just do whatever suits you best. Have fun, Jim.

I went to the website, but it wouldn't let me look up anything. It seems like you have to know the serial number of currency that is already listed before you can look them up. Any suggestions?

When u get a star note put in the number and date and it will tell u if is rare. It tells u how many were made and other information.

Star notes are popular, well worth collecting. There are some star notes in the silver certificate series that are scarce.

I collect star notes. The one dollar star notes in good condition go for fourteen dollars. Older more money. They have silver notes that are star notes they go for more. I also have a star that goes from the one dollar to the hundred that over time we got from the bank. Same year. I like them. Remember what they 're . There replacement notes that they had to destroyed. Welcome aboard anything question just ask make some friends. And most important have fun.

in my opinion there is not much to collecting the star notes, you come across it, they are interesting, have an interesting story, and that is why i am not into paper money, except for the very colorful early american ones but collect what you are interested in. the best thing you can do is learn from others blogs and stay active for as long as possible
