1963 Hungary 2 Fillér Coin

Coins-World | AC coin$

Lightweight but boldly designed, this 2 Fillér coin is a historical piece of the already disappeared Hungarian Forint. The Forint was the currency name of Hungary from 1868 to 1892 and again from 1946 onwards until its final conversion into Euro currency which was on a late schedule for 2020.

Hungary has an agricultural based economy, yet some areas in its capital, Budapest, are exporters of light industrial equipment, automotive parts, agro-mechanical equipments and processed food.

This beautiful simply designed coin is part of a year when the country was still tied to the Soviet Block of middle European nations during the period of 1949 to 1989. Enjoy this nice coin part of my European collection. Thanks for your visit and comments.

In my own words.

That is neat, I always thought of a filler coin being one that you could plug into your collection until you found a better piece. Usually there was just enough of the date and/or design to know the piece belonged or it could be a case of a rather ragged piece that hit the streets, being marred by the asphalt or whatever, before someone knew of its value. I never knew there was actually a Filler denomination, so thanks for sharing!

Thanks much for your comments. So valuable that someone with knowledge finds my item interesting. I tend to collect items that have met circulation but are kept in good status. Still, others are as valuable as newly launched.

It is weird looking...not a very interesting design. Thanks for sharing it though. ; )

Thanks, Kepi, appreciate your comments.

Interesting piece! I’m not an International collector, but I’m pretty sure I have a number of these. Probably not as old though.

Thanks much for your comments. This type of European coinage is being sought by mostly Central Europe collectors.

I was going to ask the same question. I want to learn UT you need more information. Thanks.

Weird looking coin. I'm not a fan of holed coin in general. I wonder if the off set punch is accidental or on purpose? Can you tell us what it is made of? Thanks.

Keen eyes Longstrider, indeed, I placed it on purpose, so you all can see what marvels or errors are made into the coin...it is Aluminium made. Not centered, good catch. Check more details at my collection section.
