Mid 1800s collection

| user_49486

these are some of my finest coins from the 1800s. My oldest US coin (not including colonial and British coins used in the colonies) is the 2 1851 coins, the penny and dime. The dime is worth around $35 and the penny is also about the same price (by my standards of grading and the Red Book's prices). the other coins are a 2 cent piece-1864 ($15) and 2 nickels one 1873 and the other 1868. they are each worth around $30 each.

Cool token

| user_49486

for those of you that have heard or played the old computer game Zork this is an example of a zorkmid that came with one of the games. my father played the games when he was a kid and got this coin with one of them. recently i looked up how much the coin is selling for and i found out that it is going for a whopping +$100 (making it the most expensive single item in my lot, excluding sets)

1969 D Jefferson Nickels

| user_49486

while coin roll hunting i came across these 2 Jefferson nickels from the Denver mint. The rest of the coin looks similar to each other but when it comes to the mint mark they are in two different spots, as you can see. One of the mint marks is in the corner between Jefferson and the rim while the other is more centered.

1957 error penny

| user_49486

i found this penny in a wheat penny lot and i am pretty sure this is a die brake. i never really understood what a die brake was or is but the surface of this coin seems to be pealing away (the line across Lincoln's face) and there is a bubbly area near the 7 and in between god-we.

Error Coins

| user_49486

in my collection i do have a few error coins. most of my errors are coins taken from coin rolls (acquired while coin roll hunting). most of them are dimes and nickels that are slightly off center (one side's rim is thicker and the other is not as thick). i also bought a waffle coin of a quarter and a blank penny plaque which mine as well be a copper circle that is the size of a penny. My very first error coin that i got was at a dip and dots stand in Hershey park. it was a 1994 quarter that was off center. it is worth around $10.
