I would like to get a camera for ebay coin listings for under $100. Reccomendations? I know nothing about cameras.

I bought a Nikon digital cheapo, around $100, bucks from Walmart. Works nice. A lot of people use their phones.

Beyond the camera, lighting is extremely important along with good photo editing software. Although I have spent considerably more than you will, you can get decent results from a basic set up. There are several free editing software packages you can use and a decent low-cost desklamp for lighting. These should give you good results for the purpose of listing on Ebay. Your cell phone may also give you good pictures for this purpose.

A daylight desklamp (5000-6500K lighting temperature) is the best all-around lighting source. I use different lighting for different applications but for all around you can't beat this and still remain in your budget. When you get everything together be patient with it. Fortunately, digital photography is very forgiving. If at first you don't succeed, try, try again. The only other thing you need is editing software and there are several basic and free editing packages available. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask!

I use my cell phone. I do not repeat do not alter the color of coin like they due on ebay. I take the picture. Click on original. Take the picture and match it to the  coin.  If it doesnt match  i will alter the brightnes with a haligen lite behind my shoulders. It it matches the coin then and only then do i send it my device. I hate to see orange copper they try and make it look better than it is. If i buy one that does not match up back it goes.
