The VDB only appears on the 1909 cents, and not even all of them.

Absolutely correct. There is also a 1909 VDB with a variety. In a high grade it's sort more than the regular cent. I have graded but not high still a sleeper nice to own.it appeared on four hundred thousand around that.

I am a amateur collector,so my question might seem crazy to someone with more knowledge, but I am seeing the vdb initials on 1918,1918-D,1918-S,and under a blacklight on 1944-D pennies so far, which is why I am asking the question in the forum,it seem out of place, and I am wondering if anyone in the forum have noticed this at anytime

Back in 1918 the government gave Victor David Brenner his wish . From that year till today his initials appear on Lincoln's shoulder. I will say it. There is no dumb questions about coins. I know I asked them all. Keep going. You just educated allot of yn's about that. So it was a good question. Mike B

The VDB only appears on the 1909 cents, and not even all of them. should I be finding the initials on 1918,1918-D,and 1918-s pennies on the obverse side under the left shoulder, also can see the initials under blacklight on 1944-D pennies,so it seems that the 1909 was not the only penny,or is your response only referring the back side of the 1909 penny, between the 2 wheat stalks ?

I was only referring to the VDB on the reverse. I should have made that more clear. The VDB quietly came back on the obverse shoulder in 1918.

There on every cent from 1918 on till today no lights needed. They may be worn out. That happens with everything. It's not a variety the president decided to do it.
