A few openings still available for ANA numismatic theatre in Jacksonville
The American Numismatic Association (ANA) still has a few openings for Numismatic Theatre presentations at the ANA’s National Money Showâ„¢ in Jacksonville, Florida, March 7-9, 2002.
“Numismatic Theatre is one of the best educational programs in the hobby,” says ANA Education Director Gail Baker. “For many, many years, the ANA has been proud to host presentations on topics ranging from ancient to modern coinage, paper money, tokens and medals. Numismatic Theatre provides a wonderful opportunity for numismatists to share their knowledge and collecting interests.”
In Jacksonville, there will be 24 Numismatic Theatre presentations. Baker says she encourages those who would like to present a 30- to 45-minute program to contact her as soon as possible to be listed in the convention program.
“Presentations can be made on any numismatic subject, and can incorporate slide, video or computer-aided visual programs,” Baker adds. “Equipment for audio-visual programs is provided by the ANA, however, the LCD projector for computer generated programs must be reserved in advance.”
ANA’s Numismatic Theatre presentations will be videotaped by David Lisot of Media Resource Corporation. Speakers will be provided five free copies of the completed video. (Videos of the Numismatic Theatre presentations from the ANA World’s Fair of Money® in Atlanta, Georgia, last August are available for loan from the ANA Library or can be purchased on the Internet at www.advisionvideo.com.)
“Those who cannot attend the ANA show in Jacksonville this spring can be a part of the Numismatic Theatre presentations at our convention this summer in New York City,” Baker says. “Whether you are a presenter or in the audience, the ANA Numismatic Theatre provides an ideal way to broaden your numismatic horizons and become even more involved in the hobby.”
