The Edward C. Rochette Money Museum is committed to expanding the ANA collection to cover the whole range of numismatics and making it available to our members and the public.
Interested in donating material to the
ANA Money Museum?
We accept donations of all types of objects related to numismatics. However, the museum staff must be selective about what material can be accepted into the collection, based on whether or not we already have an object in the collection and the condition of the object.
When considering donating material to the museum, please follow these guidelines:
- Before shipping your donation, please prepare an itemized list of the material you would like to donate and contact the museum staff either at museum@money.org or 719-482-9814. The museum staff will compare this list against items the museum collection and contact you to coordinate what is needed in the collection, along with shipping instructions. Objects not needed in the collection may be referred to the Education Department. Materials sent to the museum without prior consultation may result in the donation being returned or disposed of at the ANA’s discretion.
- In order to make your museum donation tax-deductible, it is necessary to have your donation valued. Appraisals should be done by a third-party appraiser prior to sending materials to the museum. The ANA Museum is not permitted to appraise donations. Please make sure to get the donation arranged well in advance of the December 31st tax deadline – items must be postmarked by that date to be tax-deductible that year.
- When shipping your donation, please include the itemized list with your package. This allows museum staff to ensure that the entire donation has been received.
The ANA and the Edward C. Rochette Money Museum staff thank you for your generosity!
