ANA Expands Convention Course Offerings at 2007 Charlotte National Money Show™
The American Numismatic Association has significantly expanded its educational course offerings in conjunction with the Charlotte National Money Show™, March 16-18.
For the first time, the convention offers professional development seminars and convention workshops, and features an increased number of pre-convention seminars.
The expansion of educational offerings at ANA conventions is part of an effort to present seminars and workshops to interested people in all regions of the country. Several of the new courses focus on subjects that relate to the convention’s host state of North Carolina.
Registration is required by Feb. 26 for all seminars and workshops. Pre-convention seminars and professional development seminars are $295 for members registering by Jan. 31, and $345 for members registering after Jan. 31. ANA convention workshops are free.
The following is a list of courses being offered at the Charlotte National Money Show™: Pre-Convention Seminars, March 14-15 (Two-day courses, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.):

- • Counterfeit Detection of United States Coins
- • Fundamentals of Grading United States Coins
- • Coins of the Roman Republic
- • Civil War Numismatics
- • Introduction to Confederate and Southern States Currency
Professional Development Seminars (Two-day courses, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.):
- • Numismatics for the Museum Professional (March 14-15)
- • Coins in the Classroom (March 16-17) ANA Convention Workshops (Free, registration required)
- • Cherrypickin’ for Fun and Profit (March 16, 1-5 p.m.)
- • Coin Collecting Basics (2 sessions offered: March 16 or 17, 11 a.m.-1 p.m.)
- • American Colonial Numismatics (March 17, 1-4 p.m.)

The 2007 National Money Show™ will be held at the Charlotte Convention Center March 16-18. The Charlotte Coin Club, the North Carolina Numismatic Association and the South Carolina Numismatic Association are the event’s host clubs. The show features the always-popular collector exhibits area, hundreds of dealers, and various educational opportunities, many of them free. Open to the public 10 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday; 10 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. Sunday. FREE admission.
