ANA-PNG 2013 PRE-SHOW DATES AND EDUCATIONAL SESSIONS ANNOUNCED

The Professional Numismatists Guild (www.PNGdealers.com) and the American Numismatic Association (www.money.org) have announced plans to conduct their third annual joint “pre-show” in August.  The show will be open free to the public through complimentary invitations from pre-show table holders, there will be four, free educational seminars and there will be special incentives for dealers who take tables at the show.

“The three-day ANA/PNG Pre-Show (www.ANApreshow.com) will be held Saturday through Monday, August 10 – 12, 2013, immediately preceding and in the same location as the ANA Chicago World’s Fair of Money (www.WorldsFairOfMoney.com), August 13 – 17,” said PNG President Jeffrey Bernberg.

“The Pre-Show allows dealers to conduct dealer-to-dealer transactions to balance inventories before the eager World’s Fair of Money crowds arrive,” explained ANA President Tom Hallenbeck.

ANA and PNG officials also have agreed on plans for additional promotion and marketing of the show.

“In addition, we have an agreement in place with a third party to provide money-saving incentives for dealers who take tables at the show.  PNG members interested in purchasing a table and learning about the incentives should contact the PNG office at (951) 587-8300 for specific information, and ANA member-dealers should contact the ANA at (719) 482-9849,” said Robert Brueggeman, PNG Executive Director.

“Table eligibility rules for dealers have been eased for the 2013 show,” said PNG Executive Director Robert Brueggeman.

“Any ANA or PNG-member dealers now may have a Pre-Show table whether or not they will have a table at the ANA World’s Fair of Money.  Any dealer who shows qualifications as a dealer can attend the show and do business with table holders,” Brueggeman explained.

Collectors and dealers are cordially invited to attend free educational sessions on Sunday, August 11.

  • From 1 pm to 5 pm, distinguished numismatic photographer Tom Mulvaney will conduct “Basic Coin Photography 101” with simple, expert advice on what you need to know to take excellent photographs of coins.

  • From 1 pm to 1:50 pm, former New York City law enforcement officer Kenny Mullins, Vice President of Positive Protection, Inc., will conduct “Security for the Coin World” with crucial information on how to protect yourself and your inventory.

  • From 2 pm to 2:50 pm, author and attorney Armen R. Vartian, PNG Legal Counsel, will discuss “Illegal to Own Coins” from ancient coins to the 1964 Peace dollar.

  • From 3 pm to 3:50 pm, Jennifer Ryley with the Mx Group (formerly, Market Sense) will conduct “Rare Coin Marketing Via Social Media,” explaining how the Internet, Facebook, Twitter and other online and social media can help boost business.

The pre-show security room will be available starting at noon on Friday, August 9, and remain open until 3pm Monday afternoon, August 12, for a smooth transition in conjunction with the ANA World’s Fair of Money.

The ANA-PNG pre-show and ANA World’s Fair of Money will be held in the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in the Chicago suburb of Rosemont, Illinois, and will be open to collectors by invitation only from dealers with tables at the show.  Public hours will be Saturday, August 10, from noon to 6 pm; Sunday, August 11, from 9 am to 6 pm; and Monday, August 12, from 9 am to noon.
