ALABAMA
Madison County Coin
Club- announced that their electronic newsletter won second place with the
nationally ANA. The program was “German Coins” by Stan Benedict.
FLORIDA
Don’t forget, if any of your club members are going to the
ANA in Chicago to tell them at registration what club you are a member of, and
your club will receive $3 credit towards next years ANA club dues.
The Summer FUN Coin Club Get Together was a success with 28 club
members representing 19 coin clubs attending. We had fried chicken & pork
chops with all the accompaniments. Ten silver eagles were giving away, and we
discussed keeping coin dealers at your show, club membership, the club
newsletter, rip-off advertising, and club insurance. The next coin club get
together will be at the FUN Show, Saturday January 10th at noon.
Please RSVP (2 club members per club) so that we know how much food to have.
Ancient City Coin
Club- had 39 in attendance at their last meeting. Rick Bretz spoke on
“Collecting Pedigreed Coins”, slabbed coins with the provenance on the label.
They also discussed treasurers they found at the FUN show.
Brandon Coin Club- had
48 in attendance. The May club show went very well. The club raffle and auction
followed.
Casselberry Coin
Club- had Bob Hawes speak on “Americas Clad Coinage”, followed by the
raffle, and auction.
Central Florida Coin
Club- had several members volunteer at Summer FUN. Zach Lauer reported on
the ANA summer seminars. The YN program was on “Indian Cents”.
Ft. Lauderdale Coin
Club- had a program on “Seated Type Coins” by Greg Wagner.
Ft. Walton Beach Coin
Club-had 56 at their last meeting. Dave Parenteau gave a program on
“Counterfeit Gold & Silver Coins”. The auction followed.
Gold Coast Coin Club-
had the ANA DVD, “Introduction to Numismatics”.
Greater Jacksonville
Coin Club- had a program on “Collecting Kennedy Half Dollars” by Richard
Buchs & Tony Bonaro. YN Peyton Souder has been named YN of the year by the
ANA.. The spring coin show was a big success.
Greater Ocala Coin
Club- had a program on “Coin Grading, Part2” by Ray Hertz. They discussed
what they found at Summer FUN, followed by the auction. The club picnic was
Tuesday July 29th at 6PM.
North Lake Coin &
Currency Club- had Mark Trout speak on “Kennedy’s”. They had a raffle,
50/50 drawing, and the auction.
Palm Beach Coin Club-
had Richard Spencer speak on “US Currency”. They had Estate Auction #27 at the
second meeting along with a FUN Show report and discussion. 60 attended.
Sarasota Coin Club-
had 29 at their last meeting. Bart Bartanowicz and Philip Walski gave talks.
Ben Todd told , “What was Hot & What was Not”, followed by the auction.
South Brevard Coin
Club- had a film on Counterfeiting, followed by pizza. Eight coins were
displayed and club members were to identify the counterfeits. They had a show n
tell with 8 members contributing.
Tampa Bay Coin Club-
signed up 3 new members. The club was interviewed by The Laker/Lutz News to let
more people know about their club. The club had a table at Summer FUN.
Treasure Coast Coin
Club- had a coin grading contest, entitled, “How Good are Your Coin Grading
Skills”. Members were shown coins with the grades concealed. The grades were
then revealed.
Venice Coin Club-
had 26 members at their last meeting. Phil Kolbe made club members guess, “What
was the Mystery Country”. Jay Chamberlain gave a program on, “Journeying
Through the all US Mints”, followed by the auction.
GEORGIA
Augusta Coin Club- had
45 at their last meeting. They had a program, show n tell, and the auction.
NORTH CAROLINA
Lower Cape Fear- had
a Super Show N Tell and a coin auction.
TENNESSEE
Memphis Coin Club- meets
the 1st & 3rd Mondays of every month except holidays.
They had 30 attend their last meeting. They had a report on the Memphis Paper
Money show followed by an auction and a presentation on “Memphis Tokens”. Their

West Tennessee
Collectors Club- will have their 55th annual coin show September
6th & 7th at the Madison County Agricultural
Extension Service Auditorium, 309 N. Parkway in Jackson, TN. Saturday 9-5,
