ANA SEEKING MONEY TALKS PROPOSALS FOR DALLAS NATIONAL MONEY SHOW

American Numismatic Association members are encouraged to share their ideas and research with fellow hobbyists by delivering a Money Talks presentation at the ANA’s 2012 Dallas National Money ShowSM, Oct. 18-20 at the Dallas Convention Center.

Money Talks consist of 30-45 minute presentations on a wide range of topics, and are a chance for collectors to share their expertise with the numismatic community. Presentations from previous shows include“The Comstock Lode and the Carson City Mint,““The S.S. CentralAmerica Treasure” and the “Texas Notes and Paper Money: The Paper Republic.”

A videographer will be on hand to record the presentations; talks should be accompanied by digital images or slides. At the National Money Show, ANA staff will record all talks, which will be available as podcasts in late 2012 and early 2013. Select talks will also be made available as PowerPoint presentations, which clubs will be able to download for use in local presentations.

Proposals are due Aug. 31. Collectors interested in giving a Money Talks presentation can fill out an online proposal form at www.money.org (scroll over “Numismatic Events” and select “Money Talks“).

The Dallas National Money Show features more than 500 numismatic dealers with an extensive inventory; a major auction by Heritage Auctions; the ANA Museum Showcase, exhibiting some of the world’s most valuable and beautiful coins and paper money; the Collector Exhibits area; as well as educational presentations and seminars. Show hours are 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Oct. 18-19 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 20. Admission is $6 for adults, and free for ANA members and children 12 and under.
