ANA to keep security room open Sunday for tour of St. Augustine 

The Security Room at the American Numismatic Association’s (ANA) National Money ShowSM in Jacksonville, Florida, March 7-9, will remain open until 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 10, to accommodate those taking a special tour to the nearby historic city of St. Augustine, as well as those who just want to enjoy the many nearby beaches.

“We have had a lot of interest in this tour on the Sunday after our show, and want to offer those going to St. Augustine a secure place to store their material,” says ANA Convention Services Manager Brenda Bishop. “The ANA offers its Security Room to members who attend the Association’s show at no cost.”

The Security Room at the Prime Osborn Convention Center in Jacksonville will open before the show at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 5, and close at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, March 6. At the conclusion of the show, the Security Room will re-open at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 9, and remain open until 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 10.

The trip to St. Augustine begins at 7:30 a.m. with a light breakfast and a narrated, scenic cruise on the St. Johns River aboard the Victory III. After arriving in the historic city, tour participants will be free to sight-see, shop and have lunch on their own. Buses will depart at 12:45 p.m. for the return trip to the convention center and hotels in Jacksonville, arriving by 1:30 p.m. The excursion is priced at $37 ($40 after February 6).

The ANA also has arranged a tour to the Cummer Museum of Art and Gardens, followed by a brief stop at Peterbrooke Chocolatiers, a Jacksonville institution. The tour on Friday, March 8, is from 1 to 4 p.m. and is priced at $22 ($25 after the February 6 pre-registration deadline).A third tour has been canceled due to security concerns. The walking tour to the Jacksonville branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta was set for Friday, March 8.The ANA has arranged for discounted airfares to Jacksonville with Delta and United Airlines.
