Think warm thoughts
Much of the country is experiencing a severe cold snap. The past few days we've had blizzards, below zero wind chills. The worst is yet to come.
What to do during these bone-chilling winter days? Think warm thoughts, coin people...
Read about that certain coin or series you enjoy but cannot afford, and allow yourself to dream.
Recall the nice purchases you've made. That overdate Buffalo nickel that completed a set. That gorgeous Morgan dollar you couldn't resist. That great discovery in a junk box. That unusual coin you got in change or found in a bank roll.
Maybe chat with a friend about the good times you've had in numismatics. The conventions. The trips to a big show. Remember wandering the bourse floor, meeting people in person, seeing beautiful coins.
Spring and summer will come eventually. You will get out and enjoy again. Until then, keep warm with good thoughts, dreams and plans.
And always, enjoy your hobby.

Not looking forward to going to work tomorrow. They are forecasting -40 or worse here. Everybody stay safe. It would be a great day to just stay home.

We're hunkering down here in Pittsburgh. Supposed to be minus 20 wind chill. I know some areas farther west are much colder so I add my prayers for continued power and no burst pipes and that we all gather here on Friday with no serious consequences to report.

We are due for the big freeze starting this evening. I have been rereading Mr. Burdette's Renaissance of American Coinage books, That will keep me warm for the next two days. Hopefully the power grid will hold and we will all come out of this unscathed. Thanks for your suggestions CoinLady, I will also dream about a 1794 Dollar.

I try to go make a comment on a friends blog I might of missed. Current one. I have always looked at threads. But nothing beats a warm blanket and coin, token and medals. Just to look at . A couple of old books you completed just received my 2019 silver eagle. Slabed today i will try the Registry set one more time. But looking at the other sets. Or just a roll of walkers. What ever my family brings to me. I always find something on a coin I missed. Some sets we got the coins in and later they found a variety it's fun it keeps me busy. And I enjoy it. Thanks Mike. I forgot a nice cup of coffee.

How about replying to blogs on the ANA's website? Excellent idea, you list some very pleasant distractions to keep ones mind off the cold which I like yourself am unfortunately in the thick of. By the way, many of these things can be enjoyed with a nice hot cup of coffee!
