Wish I was there
The 2018 World's Fair of Money opens tomorrow. Wish I was there!
I was in Philly for the 2000 WFM. Great show, and busy! That Sat. afternoon, I could hardly walk through the aisles. And so much history. I visited Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell, and the Mint. I paid tribute to Peter the Eagle. Weather was perfect, and the food was good too.
This year's show features some true rarities, not modern coins in top grade or fads, but true rare coins. The Brasher Doubloon, coins of 1792, the 1933 $20. I often say, it's worth a trip to a major show to see these coins.
And what could be found browsing the bourse? Anything, just about...Kennedy half dollars, proof sets, gold, Morgans, commems classic and modern, a Chain cent or two, and maybe a new discovery.
Don't forget the exhibits, many museum quality! Much can be learned in this section of the floor.
Have a great time, all conventioneers. Wish I was there!

I like how you included the city sites in your visit..Hope everyone has fun and a profitable time. Go check out the pre-auction coins, as Gary says. You may never get a chance to hold 7 figure coins. They are happy to bring the trays out and let you carefully hold them. Crazy but true.. Have fun and learn some new things!

Dittos on the "Wish I was there." And don't forget the opportunity to see Washington's gold pattern pocket piece before Heritage auctions it and Stacks PF-66 1913 Liberty Nickel, what a beauty and the best of the five known nickels. A lot of high end coins will be changing hands this week and it's sure to contribute to the buzz.

Your not alone. I think everyone is there except a few of us. I just hope it stays on coins and numismatic tokens and medals currency. Good talks some great authors and a chance to see the city.. and some beautiful coins. I'm sure there will be some good stories when they come back. Thanks for the look back. Mike.
