World's Fair of Money | FortWorthCollector

While at the World’s Fair of Money in Denver this year I met Andrea from The Coin Couch. If you are not familiar with it, it is Andrea’s YouTube channel where she talks about new coins and coin shows. Andrea invited me to be a guest on her channel during the show. I have posted the links to the videos below or just go to YouTube and search for The Coin Couch then click playlists, my guest appearances are under downtime with Dave. Please Check them out and give Andrea a like on her videos.

Day 3 of World’s Fair of Money Vacation (Denver Mint & Argo Gold Mine & Mill Tour)

World's Fair of Money | FortWorthCollector

For the third day of my trip, I had changed my itinerary to include the Denver Mint instead of going on the forth day as I had planned. So I woke up around 4:00 and got dressed and headed out of Colorado Springs so that I could be first in line to get tickets for the Mint Tour. To my surprise they had closed the Mint tours that week because the security that works the tour was at the show. I was able to get a picture of the front gate though. After leaving down town Denver I headed to Idaho Springs to go on the Argo Gold Mine & Mill tour. It was a great tour and very informative but if you have bad knees I would not recommend it.

These are all of the photos from the first day of my trip. I was unable to load them before because the site said the file size of each photo was to large. I now have an app that shrinks the file size of the photos so enjoy.

Day 3 of World's Fair of Money Vacation (Mint Closed)

World's Fair of Money | FortWorthCollector

As everyone who has been reading my blogs knows I had a very well laid out plan for my Denver trip and the World's Fair of Money. Unfortunately on Wednesday I arrived very early in the morning to guarantee my spot in line for the mint tour to find that it was closed until the following Monday because the guards that help with the tour where all at the show. So I will have to plan a trip back to Denver someday to take that tour. That is kinda good as it gives me a reason to drive back and see all of the wonderful mountain views.

Day 4 of World's Fair of Money Vacation

World's Fair of Money | FortWorthCollector

Thursday was my first day at the World's Fair of Money and what an exciting day it was. During the morning I browsed the first few rows of the show and picked up two Rick Harrison hand signed labeled slabs. One was a 1921-D Brilliant Uncirculated Morgan Silver Dollar and the other was a Rick Harrison Silver Medal. After that Rick Harrison showed up in person and took photos with show attendees and signed autographs. I then was off to a Money Talk session about CAC & Their "Green Beans" on PCGS and NGC Coin Holders which was very informative and well presented. After the Money Talk I returned to the Bourse floor and meet up with Andrea from the Coin Couch and gave her a 1921-D MS-63 Morgan Silver Dollar as a gift and gave her some back ground on what made it special. We later filmed an episode of the Coin Couch about the gift. Here is a link to the YouTube video https://youtu.be/26BAZxL6WeILastly I picked up an 1893-S VG8 Morgan Silver Dollar it really set me back a bit but was a very good price for the grade.
