Glendale Coin Club Virtual Meeting on YouTube - All Are Invited!

Coins | Michael Kittle

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Glendale Coin Club, like most other coin clubs, has been unable to have their regular meetings starting in March 2020.

Not wanting to give up entirely, starting in April 2020, the Glendale Coin Club held its first virtual coin club meeting online via YouTube.  The April 10, 2020 meeting was hosted on the YouTube channel of Michael Kittle Rare Coins, as Michael is the current president of the Glendale Coin Club.  During the live meeting, up to 85 people were watching concurrently and in the month since the recording of the meeting has been watched over 500 times.

You can watch back our April meeting here:  Glendale Coin Club - April 10, 2020 Meeting.

Although not the same as meeting in person, meeting online in this way does have the advantage of being accessible to people from all over the World.  During the April 2020 meeting, we had viewers from all over the United States and from some other countries as well including, Australia, Canada, Czech Republic and Great Britain.  Another advantage is that once the live meeting is over, it can be watched thereafter at anytime by anyone.

This month, the Glendale Coin Club is once again having its meeting live through YouTube.  The meeting will be Friday, May 8, 2020 at 7:00 PM Pacific/10:00 PM Eastern and you can tune in and watch it live or watch it anytime thereafter using the link here: Glendale Coin Club - May 8, 2020 Meeting.

All are invited to join us at this meeting or any future meetings we have online.  Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions!

Thanks!

Michael Kittle

President, Glendale Coin Club

Sounds much better than our Teleconference meetings, but something is better than nothing.

I also might be able to check out the meeting. I do watch quite a few videos of coin subjects online. I'm subscribed to several channels. Thanks for posting. Charlie

Will try to attend the meeting if I can. Sounds like fun. Maybe you will let me join your club? Although I may not attend in person. Our club hopes to have a June meeting, but depends of course. We rent a really nice room, at a church, and it depends on guidelines from the state, and the church. Thanks for the invite !

Yeah, our club has use of a Los Angeles County Library public meeting room. Los Angeles County is still on lockdown until May 15, but even after that, I don't see public community library meeting rooms being opened for awhile. The may open the library to people going in a few at a time to get books... but they won't have the meeting rooms open for several months I'd guess.

All are welcome to attend and participate in our online meetings... no need to join. But if you do enjoy and want to join, that would be great too. Hope to see many of you there during the show! -Mike

We're in the same boat, my local club rents a great room with full AV in a church and also want to resume in June but the more I see what movement there is in Pennsylvania, the more I doubt we will be able to meet then. Keeping fingers Xed for at least July.
