THEY STOLE HIS CAR AND KILLED HIS PUPPY
Well, I waited for someone else to write this but it doesn’t look like that will happen. I guess it’s up to me. Below are the coins that I was given on Father’s Day. Before you start wondering how many kids I have I want to say that these are from all the Creatures that live in The Compound.
Thought I would let all know that the grading company ANACS is open again. They are currently running a special on Buffalo Nickles. Unless I am mistaken, that is all three of the main TPG companies back taking submissions. Good luck everyone!
Just a quick notice to all. Also still PCGS. No wonder my token doesn't seem to be moving at NGC. Lets not forget our ANA Library is also closed.
Office Closure
All of us woke up Saturday to find out that the comment portion of the blogs as well as all the Forum features are gone. There has been no explanation as to what is going on. Have we been hacked? Is our personal info safe? These and other questions are being asked by myself and my fellow members. That the comments on the NGC Collectors Society were down, they are back up, did not help the rumors. Having made a few calls and emails to the our officers and receiving no response I decided to try again today. I was directed to the Marketing and Communication department for answers. It worked. I spoke to someone that had some answers. First, all our info is safe. The ANA itself decided to take down the features without telling us anything. I was told they are assessing how to proceed with them in the future. O.K.. Sounds like a good idea except for the no info to us part. Then the hammer dropped. As one of their ideas is to remove the comments and Forums for good! I don't know about you but I use these features to learn and make like minded friends. I've made many. This has got to be one of the biggest, potential, mistakes this company could make. I have absolutely NO reason to renew my membership if they go ahead with removal. I have great respect for all the ANA employees. This is not personal. This is a business decision. I hope I was misinformed. I have tried calling back and emailing for clarification but guess what? No one answers their phone or returns emails. I would ask you what you think but I can't and you can't... Kind of sounds like the government doesn't it.. I hope I was misinformed. Perhaps you can call and get answers. Good luck to us.. Thanks for reading.. Going to be lonely here if this is true.
I just received my newest auction win in the mail today and would like to share it here. What I was lucky enough to win, at a nice price comparatively, is a 1934-D Peace Dollar. Peace Dollars being my favorite, underappreciated, coin! This particular VAM is listed in the Hot 50. That's a list of Peace Dollar VAMs that are considered by us crazy people that collect them to be very interesting. It complements the TOP 100 Morgan Dollar VAMs. These 2 lists are considered to be advanced since many of the varieties are scarce making them, of course, costly. Some are WAY beyond my pay grade..
Today what I would like to be doing is standing in the air conditioned store of my coin dealer with a load of cash in my little hot hand and my wife/conscience not there to rein me in. That’s not going to happen so I am going to show you all the last coin I purchased from him. Below is my 1883-O Morgan Dollar. It is rated as an MS 64. If the pictures show it, you can see it has an unusually strong strike on the reverse. The eagles breast is high with lots of feather definition. Not usually the case from the new Orleans mint. If you have been kind enough to have read some of my past blogs, you will now I am drawn to Peace and Morgan dollars with nice toning. The reverse of this specimen has red, gold and blue on it. It appears another coin was laying across it giving it the crescent moon look. A favorite of mine. The colors, mostly the blue, are starting to come across onto the obverse. Mostly present across the date and some of the lettering on top with the entire obverse has a light golden tone.
