MEGA RED DELUXE EDITION

Library | Longstrider

I wanted to talk about this GIANT book and am having a problem describing it without just copying the back. I'm just going to write about why I bought it and you can check it out yourself if interested. A couple of years ago I had to bite the bullet and buy the Large Print Issue. The old eyes just didn't work well anymore. Especially at auctions and on the bourse floor. Now Whitman has published this giant Red Book that I call Mega Red! I wasn't going to buy it but I kept looking at it every-time I went to the coin store I use.

My coin dealer and I both joked about how over the top it is. After a month or two he quit joking about it and started recommending it. He's not the kind of guy to recommend something just to get my money. He does that just fine when I walk into his store! Well, I took a serious look at it and bought the giant thing. It goes for about $50.00 and weighs a ton. I'm very very happy with all the new info it has.
All the types of coins are color coded to make it easier to find. Varieties are way expanded as are grading standards. It's way more than a price list of coin worth. Way more. It has 1503 pages compared to my Large Text issue with 447. Sorry my photos didn't come out but you should get the idea. Thanks for looking!

I bought the big big book to. Started to have a hard time with it but it worked out. I could not believe some of the coins that went down. Not that many went up. I was shocked.I looked at 2015 book and checked out some coins I own with 2016 the prices went down in ms 65,66,67. Thank the lord I was lucky for once. But I like it I hope they make it again. Take CARE.

I got my copy at the Chicago ANA, and while I was there I managed to the Ken to autograph my copy. Of course while at the ANA, I was able to talk to the BEP staff for about an hour, did you know that when the current supply of uncut sheets of $1's run out there that is it for now no more are available.

Thanks for the information. With a price tag like that, I want to know that this is worth my money before buying a book like this! I have always wanted this book since I saw the first ad about it.
