Coin Thoughts #58 by "SUN"
DAY TRIP
I am fortunate to live within 2 1/2 hrs of three national parks. Today, another couple joined my wife and I for a trip to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon (elevation 8200 ft.). The North Rim closes for the winter on October 15th. We thought it would be great to see the golden and red leaves on the Aspen trees. The trees were just starting to change colors. Another week and the trees will be in full color. We had a great lunch at the lodge. If you visit the General Store in the camping area, you can acquire four different elongated coins. A great way to remember the day. It is nice to find numismatic items in different places.

Elongated cents always provide some numismatic value, as well as remembering the event with an item.

Nice souvenirs. Good companions to the statehood 25c. I have never been to the Grand Canyon. I envy you!

Your very lucky to be were you are. Never mind the coins. That just an extra. The view is the value. Thanks .

Nice post. I enjoy elongated coins. You find fewer and fewer of those machines around, unfortunately, but it's always a nice surprise. Thanks. Jim

Cool! I have a few of those stretched cents. They generally don't come out looking very good :) I'm a huge fan of national parks as well.
