3-cent coin
The 3-cent coin is one of the strangest coins in United States history. It also happens to be the smallest coin in American history. These coins only lasted from 1851-1889 and were also called trimes. There are two types of 3-cent coins which are silver and nickel. The nickel variants were made since all of the silver coins were being hoarded by the public. In the image below the coin is from 1852 and in about good condition. I am very happy to be back in the numismatist family!

You don't need to show pictures yes they help. Just write about your favorite coin and how you got it. Your a collector its that simple. You can write about a coin you don't have but would like to. It doesn't matter how many coins you have. Read other blogs and comment. I read comments and have learned from them. Just enjoy the hobby. Roll cents you never know what yoh will find!

I think I speak for most, happy that you are back. The three cent is indeed a rather strange coin in how it came about. While I find them to be highly desirable, my personal favorite among them is the one year only issue from New Orleans, the 1851o.

Welcome back. The red Book would help. The one dollar Gold piece is the smallest coin in American History 13 mm. You started the blog stating that your coin is the smallest in American History you did not specify gold or silver.. Your coin I believe he is 17 mm. We learn by sharing. I have been collecting 30 years and I'm still learning. Glad you found your way back!

The reason I left was that I didn't think I could take any more pictures for blogs or collections.
