Extras!

Coins | A.J.

Hey, i got some new things over the last few days that id like to share. Firstly, i have a fully uncirculated set of predecimal coins (or at least mostly, some look cleaned slightly) with every coin dated from 1931-1969, including 2 threepence. Secondly is a 1980 500 Lira coin from the Vatican graded NGC MS66, apparently between the 16th and 11th best graded on earth. It features Pope John Paul II on the front and a Crowned shield on the back. Apparently only about 180K exist of it, too. Thanks for reading and have a Happy New Year from Andrew.

Very nice! John Paul II really helped make the world a better place as he was instrumental in the downfall of the Soviet Union and the freeing of eastern Europe from the clutches of socialism

You are very close of the mintage total for 1980 Vatican City 500 Lira's, actual total 184,000. The only other year these were issued was in 1979 with a mintage of 145,000. So yes, you have a great find! Oddly, the other is much more common. Go figure.
