1894 Greece 5 Lepta Coin
Beautifully minted in Paris, my 1894 Greek 5 lepta coin bears on its obverse the surrounding words of "Basiléion ton Elladós" which means Kingdom of Greece, while this coin was produced when Greece had Giorgios I as King of the hellenes peoples and lands.
"Lepta" is the plural version of "leptón" which is a part of the official Greek drachma currency. The Greek word leptón means small piece. A particular name to describe a monetary exchange quantity.
Launched in an era when the Greeks were beginning to switch their political views away from the monarchy, my coin features simplicity yet a standing antique detail as to its historical position.
In my own words.
