1979, 1980 & 2000 Barbados 10 Cents Coins

Coins-World | AC coin$

Presented in here are three samples of the Barbadian dime. One for 1979, one for 1980 and, a more recent one for 2000.

The Barbadian dollar is the official currency of the quite recently independent island-nation of Barbados. Its regular monetary symbol is Bds$ or BBD. It has been in use since 1935. Most of the currency of Barbados has been minted and printed in London, England by the Royal Mint. The Royal Canadian Mint and the US Mint have done limited work on some issues under selected contracts.

At a specific time the National Bank of Barbados recognizedand named the bird on the reverse of this beautiful dimes to be a "tern", to be corrected by some authorities not longago as to officially title the flying birdas a "laughing seagull" or gull.

Enjoy this nice sample of Barbadian dimes. Thanks for your comments and visits.

In my own words.
