Jamie Franki and Donna Weaver were responsible to bring a forward looking Third US President image to the revamped nickel in 2006. The likeness of Thomas Jefferson is seen brilliantly looking the spectator or beholder, an honor to this President's mandate from 1801 to 1809.

The San Francisco Mint produced less than 900,000 of this proof coins in 2021. Its still nicknamed Return to Monticello (originally designed by Felix Schlag) as recognized on its reverse brought also a retouched image of Jefferson's mansion. 

Sharp and with attention to detail, the nickel honors a man and an era of our Nation's evolution into modern times.
