Does the texture of the coin look weird or am I just imagining it?

Blogs are much more interesting when they're in your own words...most of the fun is doing your own research.

It's a buffalo nickel. Hard to find in circulation.

There were 9,418,000 minted of this 1920-D Buffalo nickel. It is one of the rarer Buffalo nickels and is worth around $6.50 in G-4. I'd encourage you to do some deep digging and find out more information about your coin.

That looks large for a Buffalo. It could be a fake broadstrike or "Texas Coin". That is what people do by putting a coin in between two pieces of wood or leather and smashing it out. It's a fake broadstrike if the surface is very granular.

That's nice, but you need to give correct information, especially if you are here to help... Buffalo Nickels are made of a copper and nickel composition... No silver.

I'd be interested in hearing about what made you start collecting coins in the first place. Hopefully you will develop some curiosity and initiative to start to go after information on your own. Wish you well !

Look it up. You appear to have internet access. Look it up. Geeze kids. Do your own work. Maybe I went to far. It's a 1920-D Indian head nickel. Now you can look it up. Cool series. Thanks.
