Disappointed

Coins | user_39492

Hello all, it's been awhile since I've been here and I'm still continuing my journey in this wonderful life of coins and a set of coins I sent off came back. This particular coin I had a post about it so I finally got it to NGC to see if NCS conservation services could remove what I thought to be a milk spot,it wasn't and my heart dropped. Sometimes you win some, but I can say for it to be a Christmas gift from a friend I will cherish it and thanks everyone for getting me to find out the status of this wonderful 1921 Peace Dollar.

Early Christmas

| user_39492

Hello all, I really don't have a blog just a blessing. Today I was with a couple of friends and one knew I've really been involved with my coin obsession and told me he had some coins his dad left him. As we were going through the Buffalo Nickels he said I got a gift for you at no cost, his exact words were "I've never seen you so happy and involved with coins and I'm tired of you asking me do you got any good ones" so in a shoe box he had some beautiful coins. He told me to reach in and what ever I pull out it was my Christmas present so I was excited. I pulled out this 1921 high relief Peace Dollar and it is beautiful!!! He didn't know much about it, but told me to enjoy my hobby and don't let anyone take your joy. I want to say Thank You for the wonderful gift and I'm sending it to be slabbed ASAP. Thanks again everyone for your support and I hope you all get a great present like mine.

Unusual 2022-P Roosevelt Dime

Coins-United States | user_39492

Hello all, today I was at the gas station getting lottery tickets and a couple of other items when the cashier told me my total and she gave me my change back and I noticed something unusual. One of the dimes she gave me didn't look like the other one she gave me so when I got in the car I put it in a napkin until I got home. Looking at it with my loupe I noticed that it wasn't reeded and it also weighed 2.3 grams. With all the great minds here I was hoping someone in the community could help me out, it's a 2022-P also so I would like to think it's a error coin. Thanks again and I also hope if it's not an error, I might still have a chance on lottery, lol.

First Coin Show at Camp Jordan

Coin Shows | user_39492

Hello all, I know it's been awhile since I've been on here, but been having a lot going on lately. Today I took some me time and went to my first Coin Show in East Ridge, Tennessee and at first I felt kinda out of place so I walked around until some foreign coins caught my eye. I brought with me my American and my foreign coin books with me so I stopped at this vendor that I never will forget. His name is Robert E. Jones III (ANA LM 6231)(Bob) and he really made me feel at home. He educated me on my coins as well showed me a trick with a loonie, just kept me laughing. Before I left (I pretty much stayed at his spot) I just had to buy something from him to show my appreciation for all his time and he was just as happy as I was just to be talking about coins. Got me a a1862 Half Dime as well, thanks again Bob for making me feel so welcome in the coin community and hope to go to many more. Happy Veterans Day as well, thank you all for your service.

Seeing if I'm seeing things

Coins | user_39492

Hi all, hope all is well with the community and just thought I would ask for some help with my eyes. Getting older, but better I was going through my Kennedy Half Dollars and I ran across this 1969-D and some features caught my eye. Now needless to say they produced almost 130 million silver clad JFK'S for circulation that year so it's not a rare coin, but I noticed on the reverse D/D. Now I'm not for sure if it is, but I would like this wonderful community to help this old young guy out. Thanks again for your help and enjoy your day.

1972-D Eisenhower Dollar Discovery

Coins | user_39492

Hello all, I was going through my Ike Dollars over the weekend (haven't seen many post about these coins) and I thought I would share a coin I feel just might be valuable. The 1972-D Eisenhower Dollar mintage was close to 93 million so I feel it's a common coin, but what makes this coin so unique is it D/D reverse. Before I labeled this coin I studied both a regular 1972-D and then this one which I can't see otherwise besides being a D/D reverse. I noticed that the 1972 Eisenhower Dollar had a lot of different things going on that year with the 3 Types (Type 2 being more sought after), but I feel there are a lot more out there to discover. I would love to get feedback from this wonderful community to let me know if I'm right or just seeing things.

Penny Jar Find

Coins | user_39492

Hello everyone, earlier today I was going through my penny jar I've had since my son was about 3(he's 26 and in the Army) and ran across this unusual 1953-S Lincoln Cent. As I took my loupe out to get a closer look at it I discovered first the last "T" in Trust is covered by the rim, but it's not bent. Next after a closer look I saw a die crack from in between IN GOD going down the left side of the head stopping at the ear. Just wanted to look through coins today and get more knowledge of what I love doing now and look at this!!! I don't think it's worth anything and I wouldn't want to get rid of it anyway because I think it's a conversation piece. Gonna look more into this coin, but I thought I would share it with the community, thanks again for reading.

Needing Assistance

| user_39492

Hi all, I've posted this coin with a group of others from my grandfather's collection he left to me and I've found and researched many of them, but this particular coin I just can't seem to find any information about. If there's anyone who can help me to pinpoint the region of this coin and the background it would be very appreciated. Thanks again to all and thank to the Armed Forces for your service.

Still Learning

| user_39492

Hi all,as I was going through my grandfather's coins from when he was in the Armed Forces I ran across these. I was wondering if anyone could help me out with identifying these coins. They were in a small leather pouch so I guess they were a few of his prize possessions. Thanks again for all your help.
