You have to help us if you want some answers. I need to see all sides of this coin. Your talking about something going back centuries and it looks new. I have found some but without your help no one can help you. Mike.
I'm not much of a foreign coin guy and I don't know anything about that coin. I'm looking forward to seeing what others are able to find out about your coin. Thanks for joining the conversation!
if you follow Numinerd9 directions there will probably be someone here that can help you but you can always take it to an expert if you want the best answer and validity of the coin. if it is a genuine piece you have quite the coin.
Hello User_43224! If you are able, please post a picture of the other side, and the edge of the coin, as well as a clearer picture of the side already pictured here; it's just a bit too blurry to lock in on fine details. (If I may ask, how did this item come in to your possession?) The authenticity of this piece is suspect in my humble opinion, but then I'm sure there are other numi-peoples in our online community who know way more than I do about these older Judean coins and could provide a better opinion. I am always very suspicious of ancients that look this nice - the technology about 2,000 years ago was not really capable of making coins perfectly round, but then greater care was often taken with gold and (sometimes also) silver coins, so I can't be 100% sure one way or the other. I would expect to see some 'cracks' in the metal on the edge if genuine, but if there's a seam running along it, then you have your answer (as a cast counterfeit would show an edge seam where the two shells comprising each side were joined together.) At any rate, thanks for sharing! -Sam Gelberd, ANA Numismatic Educator.

An in-person look might be needed, as there are many modern replicas. Weight? Appearance?
