Thanks for sharing. There are a couple of old sayings I have two. We say here buy the book before the coin. Everyone on the site and collector knows that. The second one is if it's to good to be true it usually is. Follow those two and you will be ok. Sorry to here about it. Maybe some of the others are o.k.
Agreed., World Coin Nut! Some of them look very nice, but the authenticity is definitely suspect for some of them as well, especially that Syracusan Decadrachm - real ones just don't get found at estate sales; too good to be true, imho.( Some even look like old museum electrotypes, like you might encounter at a place like the British Museum.) I sincerely hope you didn't pay too much for them, and that as many as possible turn out to be genuine. -Sam Gelberd, ANA Numismatic Educator.
I am happy for your pic ups but I also hope you have a book. We have a saying it's an unwritten rule buy the book before you by the coins. These like many others are counterfeits. I hope you know what you are buying in would the to see you get stuck. These should also be protected. The environment will damage coins ancients as well as modern . So please be careful there beautiful and you need to make sure there all beautiful and real. Some look real good. But pleas protect them. Thanks for the pictures and some information would help us thanks again.

Nice set of coins. What did they cost, if you don't mind me asking? I'm looking forward to hearing what NGC has to say about them. Thanks for sharing!

These are amazing! And at an estate sale to boot! My favorite is the dolphins design. You need to pick up a reference book on ancient coins.

I would be curious to see what NGC says. A few of them appear to be questionable to me.
