Hey guys I just wanted to talk about books and what your favorite one is or the best one you have I have a few books my oldest the eleventh edition my newest is from 2011 or 2012
As I said before Mega Red. They are taking pre-orders for 2018 it Wil be out in April. The ANA I think is taking orders. I bought mine somewhere else I get a special deal no shipping and handling. It goes from 45to 49 dollars. I just wrote a blog on it I think anyone who collects coins this book is a must. Take care. Mike.
Wow!! This is a tough one to keep short. Definitely The Red Book. There are so many others depending on ones interest. I enjoy "Comprehensive Catalog and Encyclopedia of Morgan and Peace Dollars". It's the VAM book. Cherrypickers Guide is a good one. Right now I am read Q. David Bowers new edition of Lost and Found Coin Hoards and Treasures. My coin dealer was nice enough to gift me an autographed copy for my birthday. Thanks Ed. That's it for now. Wait. Don't forget all the Numismatic periodicals. Thanks!
I almost left out the best part ...while at the 2016 Money Show in Anaheim, CA. I saw Q. David Bowers, spoke with him and he signed my Buffalo Book!!! He's a really great man! : )
I am going to throw a two volume set into the mix (actually two separate books but together they become a set). Michael Harlan's Roman Republican Moneyers and Their Coins 81 BCE - 64 BCE and Roman Republican Moneyers and Their Coins 63 BCE - 49 BCE. A bit of personal history of the moneyers, their family history, Roman and Italian mythology and a good chuck of Roman History from a period that is not overly mined. The reading is surprisingly light for the subject, and the text is finished off with many beautiful photos of high condition coins. This book covers the period from the conflict between Marius and Sulla down to the First Triumvirate.

Mega Red. It's loaded and has great history in it. Tells stories about coins. Can't get a better reference book the best.

Can't beat the Red Book. The "Official Red Book" series of books is great for specialists. It depends what your favorite coins are.
