Comments

Don't get cleaned coins. And don't clean them. If they are cleaned, they are basically worth their face value.

Read others' blogs on this site to learn more about coins. It is like having a digital Red Book of info.

Silver... well, if you are looking for 90 percent coins, anything before 1964 in the us. Except for nickels and cents. Also, there are W quarters from 2019 and 2020. You can get them coin roll hunting, which is when people go to the bank for rolls of coins. They look through them, pick out what they want, and send back the rest. W quarters are worth a lot.. 1942 - 1945 nickels are 35 percent silver. 1965- 1970 halves 40 percent silver. Go to your local coin store to buy coins. Its cheaper there. Best way to start out is to collect cheap series. It's a Lot of fun. I collect 50 state quarters, America the Beautiful Quarters. Also Lincoln Memorial cents. Buy books to make it more organized. World coins are good for cheap silver. Welcome!

Read what is on the ANA site. Plenty of guides online. Most important collect what you like. Welcome. This blog area is great for seeing new areas of numismatics. Don't get caught up in the points. We have a couple members who post two blogs a day to accumulate points. If we all posted two blogs a day it would ruin the site.

Buy the coins you like. Buy the book before the coin. That's what we do here. Stay with current collectors. They will help you. Check the date of there last activity. You will be ok.
