June 2022, YN Auction Review
This YN auction was not the greatest I will say. I only bid on two of the coins but I still got excited about something...

Wow. I didn't think I would get many coins on this trip but it really surprised me how much I got for my collection. The first thing is yesterday the auction for the benefit of the YN's/benefit of Summer Seminar scholarships. It happened here in Colorado Springs, CO and was fun. I ended up bidding on lot #112 which was title "Cheerios Money". This lot was made for me! Here's the description the YN's wrote for it: "This lot has everything except a box of Cheerios. In this lot, a 1954 $1,000 Confederate note from a Cheerios box is accompanied by a Cheerios Cent, one of the first 10 million Lincoln cents minted." I literally had no idea there was a 1954 $1,00 Confederate note that came in Cheerio boxes but here I am. I won it for $40. I also got donated a 2006-S Clad Colorado Quarter, NGC sample. These sold for $60 a piece at the auction and is really cool.. All the YN's who participated all got something donated to them. (I was not participating in Summer Seminar though, just my brother).I had posted earlier that I found two W quarters, a New Hampshire quarter with a hole in it, an American Samoa NP quarter with a cud on the mintmark, and three circulation strike S mints, Great Sand Dunes, Tallgrass Prairie, and a Sally Ride. I don't think I told you about this but I was also gifted a 1971-D "Ike" dollar and a 1922 Peace dollar. I also went to the Book Sale they had at the Money Museum and got a 1965 Red Book which I thought was cool. The final thing I wanted to share was the 1772 silver Ike dollar I got for doing the scavenger hunt at the CoinXWest show.Tomorrow will be the banquet for the end Summer Seminar which is where I will get the award for the YN literary award.

I have been going along this trip for a while now and have visited some really cool places so far. We visited Antelope Canyon, Horseshoe Bend, Zion, and many more. One of the things we did today at Zion was a trail called Angels Landing which has a 1500 ft elevation. It was steep, high, and pretty scary, especially with the signs reminding people that 17 people have died falling off of it. @thatcoinguy didn’t come on that one and I don’t blame him. When I looked it up there was a video that said “Angel’s Landing - Scariest Hike in America?”. Maybe it is, but the view was great, along with the experience. My heart was racing the whole time though. You should check it out. It is one of the world’s most renowned hikes and has 4.9 stars!
I figured since we are still on our cross-country trip I should blog on wildlife coins. I leave the airbnb tomorrow so I will start posting blogs less frequently then. As I said on my last update blog I went to the Sonora Desert Museum and they had an otter. Last year for Thanksgiving I did a blog titled “Turkeys on Coins?!” and I decided to do a blog about Otters on coins since we saw one on the trip. As some of you may know, otters are my favorite animals. This is because they are cute and love to swim and are amazing swimmers. I would say my favorite kind of otter is the sea otter but I just love them all. When I started to look for coins with otters on them I didn’t find many but would like to share the ones I did!
