CheerioCoins 2022 Annual YN Auction Pick-ups!

| CheerioCoins

Today was the 2022 Annual YN Auction and I had a blast! I bid on around 12 lots and started with 1630 YN Dollars. I ended up winning 3, maybe 4 lots in this years auction and I was happy to see some of you guys there. This year they did it on Google Meets instead of Youtube.

The first lot I bid on and won is the 1899-O Morgan Dollar and I won it for 705 YN Dollars. That is about half of my total but I really liked the coin. The coin is worth around $96 according to PCGS Price Guide. It is 90% Silver and 10% Copper and has a mintage of 12,290,000. It was minted at the New Orleans mint which I really like. I don't think I have any other coins from the New Orleans mint since they only minted gold and silver coins from 1838 to 1909.

The second lot I bid on and won a 1916 Canadian cent for 135 YN Dollars. I really like to collect Canadian coins so this was a great lot! The coin has a minatge of 11,022,367 and can be worth around $9.25, according to Numista. The obverse features King George V, it was minted by the Royal Canadian Mint and has a composition of bronze. King George V Canadian Cents were minted from 1912-1920.

The third coin I bid on and won is a PCGS MS-66 1944-P Jefferson nickel for 370 YN Dollars. It has a mintage of 119,150,000 and can be worth around $42 according to PCGS Price Guide. The coin has some nice luster and stood out to me. Its 35% Silver which makes it worth as much as it is. The forth coin is a PCGS MS-66 1941-S Lincoln cent that I'm not sure if I won yet but I emailed Sam Gelberd to find out.

I just want to say thanks to Sam, the people at ANA, and all the people who donated the lots. Thank you for reading my blog and have a great day!

Great job at the auction. That 1899-O though, close to my heart, and a super addition to your collection. Keep at it, your collection is growing and something to be proud of.

You have my full attention. I love those Canadian large cents. I'm seeking them out in red-brown exclusively, that reverse is stunning against a maroon/fire red field! I've got several so far. Thanks for sharing your's and hope it grows in size.

AWESOME wins!! Way to go Cheerio!! Sounds like a really great time. Unfortunately, I’m a little too old for that. Just curious, how much is a YN dollar worth, and how do you get them?

Most lots went for roughly ten times their retail dollar value (E.G. a ten dollar coin goes for about 100YN$) you can get them from doing blogs, school projects, and being active in the coin collecting community.

Nice pickups! LOL it was fun to see brothers go after it! I'll be posting a blog in the next few days...
