One Gold Kennedy Half Dollar Per Customer Per Day?

World's Fair of Money | Mike Ellis

I doubt it! I predict, though they likely will not show it, that the grading services are going to encapsulate more of the first day of release from the ANA Show than the mint is selling. At this point, it will be easier and much more affordable to go or have someone go to the other mints for you to buy 5 and then take them or send them to the show! And you can do this several times in this overnight delivery world we live in! (This is the opinion of the author and not necessarily that of the ANA, its officers, its governors or its employees)

"Kevin Lipton - (we attended Summer Seminar together as YNs) is buying a ton of them in Denver and shipping them to Chicago!" This was posted on my facebook page today, 08/08/14. See what I mean?!!

Don't get me started about the fundamentals of Mint policies, Mike. I still haven't gotten over the fact that they aren't doing the entire production cycle in-house. Buying planchets pre-made from private companies, indeed! That sort of garbage leads to more garbage - like talk of making the standard silver proof set coins from .999 instead of .900 silver. If they need to do that, then stop making them altogether.

I have to agree with you VKurtB. It started with the limited number of distributors of the silver eagles....

See? This is the inherent and eternal conflict of worlds when the Mint does an inaugural rollout at a coin show. The Mint must NEVER concern itself with the needs of the secondary dealer market and any coin show, especially an ANA show, needs to be all about the secondary market. The day that the secondary market enters the Mint's calculations, instead of the individual collector's needs, the hobby has been irretrievably corrupted. The Mint's impact on the secondary market must always be "accidental", or it is corrupt.

That is good to hear! NGC needs to keep those receipts too! The original anywise.

NGC has announced that NOTHING gets the "ANA Inaugural Release" label without showing your FLOOR SHOW receipt. No out of town imports!

I am sure they will be trading for a minimum of $3,000 on the floor with labels no later than Wednesday morning!

How long until we see these in slabs, with special labels - and with those fun little stickers too? If I owned one of these sticker-slab services, I'd come up with new-style decals to coincide with each new mint release - why should the Mint and the TPG's have all the fun and profits off ridiculousness for themselves?!
