Anyone Else Heard About This
Just ran into this at my grocery store. Wondering if anyone else has hear about it. I also tried to go coin roll hunting and the tellers at the bank said "can you please give us your coins for cash". I said sure so I went back today gave them a bunch of rolled coins and they were happy. So then I asked if they had any quarters and they had zero. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Bank tellers before this madness were very angry to see me walk in with bags of coins, but now things have changed. I don't think that this is because either of the mints are completely closed (for sure their numbers must have gone down because of social distancing) but I think it's because people just aren't spending cash and coin right now. Some people are downright afraid of handling currency at this moment.

Yes it spread very quickly. . One of two of the mints must of closed.. That or the employees got the virus. I hope the get back on line soon. I'm sure the mints are already making emergency coinage. I had noticed the remaining three W quarters have not been released. I figure if they get back on line there will be a dump of the remaining three.Or not make them at all.. Since this is coinage I suspect the new coins will have a privy mark. I hope it will not be a smiley face. How long how much it's always a secret with the Treasury Department. They not only run the mint but price the items. Thanks for an informative blog.

I should cash in all my rolls and change. I have put a couple twentys in the change machines to get quarters for searching. I need to turn them in to the bank now.
