I can't tell you why. It always bothered me. Two million five hundred thousand people no clubs.. Years ago I might have made the meetings. Now there is no way. So if one does start I can't go. Great question. Mike from Brooklyn

We don't even have a regular coin show. I met more coin dealers from NYC at the NYINC show than anywhere else. The closest regular show is in Melville, which is OK, but how do we not have something inside NYC is hard to understand.
It is not just coins, BTW. The health of NYC seems to be very bad at this point. The Boy Scouts, Comic Collectors, Movie houses, book clubs, Marjong.... hobbies are dying everywhere...which has been the heart and soul of NYC life.

My neighborhood has been holding its own. I it's small so. maybe that's it who knows. The sport stadiums are full. Everyone is seeing a mask. The players are doing well some cases. I mean you really can't figure it out. I have my shots and booster. When I go out I are a mask. That God now I have never had it. Yet the girl down the hall does. Go figure.

I think that's been a trend across the board every where. Yet on a positive note, those which do exist have shown an increase in both younger and new membership. Is this an indicator of things to come, more local clubs? Who's to say. They are, however, the very foundation of our hobby.

The problem with a lack of clubs, IMO, is not an issue of COVID-19. It has to do with the increasingly incoherent communities, and it has been happening since the 1960's.
