How do you rate your collecting level?

How do you qualify your collecting level?
Are levels by a specific coin knowledge and collection? Multiples? Quality? Value? Style? Time? Effort?
Think it would be interesting to know others opinions...

There is no such thing about levels. A collector is not defined by what is in their collector or not. Knowledge is relative.

I would rate my collecting level as average or 5/10.I feel like I'm organized at a minimal level.I would like to sell some of my stuff and concentrate on just certain coins, but I can't seem to pull the trigger on selling. Thanks for the interesting question.  Now I'm depressed again. All the best,Mr B

Honestly, I would rate myself as a 10/10.  I am plain obsessed, very passionate, and I spend about 4 hours a day studying new information.  My collection is of moderate size, but I feel like drive, passion, and effort are the main factors for consideration.

I ask the question mainly because the ANA Profile asks the question.  I also try and focus on specific coin series, and finish it, though my wallet can't!  I am new to the Club, not collecting,  and am looking for the general guidance that a hobbiest, and sometimes professional members can give.
Guess that's why coins have 2 sides!

Need to rephrase, "I am New to the club, not new to collecting" is what I meant to say...

Haha, I am happy to help with anything.  Feel free to shoot me a message any time.  And I hate to get technical, but coins have THREE sides!!  Never forget about that edge (;  Cya 'Round ST

I consider myself an advanced collector. I have learned a lot about U.S. cons this year and and gotten into learning the back stories of some of them.

I don't believe in levels...well, I guess the ANA does...haha.  I like to think there are casual collectors, novice, advanced and then there are investors. Theres nothing at all wrong with being any one of them...it all depends on how you want to approach the "hobby". I consider myself advanced in knowledge...I've been at this since 1979...my collection has some catching up to do to get to that level....

Levels, smilvels, who really cares?  What is important is your passion and love for all that coinage floating around out there!  Own one coin, a thousand?  It all boils down to what this hobby means to you, there... Nuff Said!
