Question re Continental Currency Note - Signed J Franklin

I am wondering if someone can kindly answer a question for me.

I have a Continental Currency note, dated 11/2/1776, Seven Dollars, signed by a J Franklin.

Who is J Franklin? Is he related to Ben Franklin?

Ben had a brother James, but I believe he died in 1735 well before the 1776 date on the currency.  James had a son James, but he also appears to have died before 1776.

Thank you

Ben Franklin was 70 years old then. And was.consumed with a trip to Canada in the spring and getting  back to sign the Declaration. I don't think he was singing notes. Keep checking. I could be wrong
