U.S. Mint refuses to learn previous lessons

I went through the same crap with the Limited Edition Silver Proof Set.  I was at the final payment screen and when I hit the process button, up popped a screen that said something to the effect, "That page does not exist, please go back to home screen".Someone needs to quit acting shocked after these events and get their brains out of their collective Anal Orifices and fix this issue.  I am preparing a communication to these incompetent X#@$ about these issues.  I will wait until tomorrow or maybe even Monday to calm down before I reread, edit and send.  What is astounding is the continual denial of the problems before the mint.  Mr. Ryder actually said he was proud of the things he has done to further the mints goals this year.  Really???  When should you be proud of incompetence?  I noticed that he refused a request for interview by Coi World Mag, gee, wonder why?  As for not expecting the site to crash, and blaming it on an unexpected record number of people trying to buy these coins, my 14 year old Cat knew this was going to happen, and all he normally cares about is a clean litter box, fresh food and a warm lap.  Someone with "Real World" Management experience needs to take over at the mint, the current leadership has demonstrated time and time again that they don't know how and don't listen to their customers.  I gotta go, I've got a correspondence to finish.

Two years and things have got worse to the point were the director is saying he's sorry. Right.instead of writing I'm sorry try one that says resign. That would.sel!!!! Out dated software servers.and he can't figure out why it keeps crashing. Wow. I wouldn't give an interview either!!

Like yourself my initial frustrations overwhelm my thought. To that end I completely agree with your assessment of the situation. The first step to any negative situation is to admit one exists. The second and final would be to take control on a personal level and remedy the matter. Mr. Ryder fails on both counts. His letters begin by "knowing" and concludes with the typical refusal of accountability. Finger pointing. Why should he? We're paying for his service or lack thereof. The point being, until We the People hold them as such this will not change any time soon.

I have emailed the mint many times in real problems. I have asked others to do the same. Otherwise be thinks he's the cats meow. I have told him it's time to step down . He has to go. Refusing to give an interview with coin world means he knows  it's only time he steps down. The sooner the better.

I calmer today, still angry and you hit the nail on the head, failure to accept responsibility and willingness to resolve the issue, instead of finger pointing.  That's what angers this old manager, failure to do his job.  Any ideas for a resolution, other than My Ryder stepping down, which he won't do as "it's not his fault"
