Madison County Coin Club- had a program by Stan Benedict on “Zambia’s Independence” followed by door prizes, raffle, refreshments, and the auction.
FLORIDA
The Summer FUN Club Get Together will be Friday July 10th at noon. We will have a luncheon, door prizes, and exchange club information. Please RSVP me at swicer@comcast.net All FUN member clubs can send 2 people to the get together. I don’t need names, I just need to know that your club will attend.
Call for Volunteers in the Tampa Bay area- for the FUN show in Tampa, January 7-10th, 2016. Please notify your club members that FUN is looking volunteers to man public registration and help with the YN program. Contact FUN Board member Gary Braisted at numisman57@gate.net
Ancient City Coin Club- had 38 members at its last meeting. Tony Bucci gave a program on “Obsolete Currency and Notes, Part 2”, followed by the 50/50 drawing and the auction.
Casselberry Coin Club-had FUN Vice President Bob Hurst speak on “Collecting Foreign Coins,” followed by a show-n-tell, refreshments, and the auction.
Central Florida Coin Club- had a successful Spring show. The club celebrated National Coin Week at the downtown library. The club made $200 from setting up at the Central Florida Fair.
Clearwater Coin Club- Florida’s oldest coin club was established in 1939. The Clearwater coin show will be July 3-5, 2015 at the Innisbrook Golf & Spa Resort in Palm Harbor, Fl. Contact Ed Neito at clearwatercoinshow@gmail.com The Clearwater website is www.clearwatercoinclub.50megs.com
Daytona Beach Coin Club- had a slide presentation by Mark Trout, followed by door prizes, raffle and auction.
Ft. Lauderdale Coin Club- is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year. The club had antique bronze medals made and given to club members. The club picnic was April 18. The club had a “Pizza Night” to celebrate National Coin Week. Average attendance is 70 with 100-lot auctions.
Ft. Walton Beach Coin Club- had 59 members at its last meeting. The club had a coin grading exercise with 10 slabbed coins (grades covered), followed by door prizes, raffle, and the auction.
Gold Coast Coin Club- had an ANA DVD on “Counterfeit US Coins.” The club is working on the ANA Numismatic Diploma Program and Dora Giraldo has graduated from the program. Congratulations Dora. They also had the ANA DVD on “Grading Mint State US Coins”.
Greater Jacksonville Coin Club- had a program by Robert Levan on “Coins of Queen Victoria.” The club’s spring show is May 29-31 at the Morocco Shrine Temple, 3800 St. Johns Bluff Road South, Jacksonville.
North Lake Coin & Currency Club- had door prizes, raffle, 50/50 drawing, and auction.
Ocala Coin Club- had Ray Herz speak on “Washington Quarters” Part 1, followed by the auction. Mark Trout received pins, vignettes of a $100 bill, and 30 dateless Buffalo nickels to put into circulation, all from the ANA.
Palm Beach Coin Club- had a Free Food Night with pizza, subs, calzone, and Stromboli. Approximately 90 people gorged themselves. Tony Swicer gave a report on the Baltimore show March 25-29th.
Sarasota Coin Club- had 45 at its dinner meeting at Flemings Steakhouse. The raffle brought in $216. 50th anniversary club medals are still available in silver, goldmine, and bronze at $25, $7 & $7 respectively.
South Brevard Coin Club- had an exhibit by Stan L. The club had show-n-tell, door prizes, raffle, and the auction. The club picnic was April 4.
Tallahassee Numismatic Club- will have its Saturday Coin Show May 2, 9-5, at 1400 N. Monroe St, Tallahassee, FL 32303. ANACS will be there.
Tampa Bay Coin Club- had Steve Cochran from Gainesville Coin give a presentation on “Precious Metals Verifier Coin Tester.” He brought an 1894 Morgan dollar in a PCGS holder, both counterfeits.
Treasure Coast Coin Club- had a program on “Fractional Currency” by Ron Rego and Ron Tagney, followed by door prizes, raffle, and auction.
Venice Coin Club- had 25 at its last meeting. Members discussed the newly discovered “hot lips” Roosevelt dime and Bart Bartanowicz gave a program on his acquisition of the 1956 Moroccan 500 Francs, followed by the auction.
West Hernando Coin Club- had Mark Trout present a slide show celebrating National Coin Week, followed by the silver eagle door prize, raffle, and auction accompanied by refreshments. Forty-two members and 2 guests were present.
GEORGIA
Augusta Coin Club- coin show is May 8-9 at the Columbia County Expo Center. For more information, go to www.augustacoinclub.org Steve Nix presented a power point on “The Proposed Design of the 2015 Club Medallions”. The club took a joint trip to GNA, April 18. The club had show-n-tells followed by the auction.
NORTH CAROLINA
Lower Cape Fear Coin Club- had 28 at its last meeting. The club had a “Coin Grading Roundtable,” followed by an attendance prize, 50/50 drawing, and the auction.
