Hotel Space, Bourse Tables Going Quickly for 2008 National Money Show in Phoenix
Hotel rooms and bourse tables are selling out quickly for the American Numismatic Association’s 2008 National Money Show™, March 7-9 in Phoenix. Better-than-expected interest points to an exciting, well-attended spring convention in Arizona.
Hotel rooms at discounted convention rates at the Hyatt Regency Phoenix are now sold out. Convention attendees can still take advantage of discounted rates at the ANA’s host hotel, the Wyndham Phoenix, as well as the SpringHill Suites by Marriott. Both hotels are adjacent to the Phoenix Convention Center. For reservations, call the Wyndham Phoenix at 602-333-0000, or the SpringHill Suites at 602-307-9929.
Only six bourse tables remain for the National Money Show. The bourse area features dealers from around the world, a club midway and many numismatic publishing and supply companies. This year, more than 500 dealers will be in attendance. To reserve a bourse table in Phoenix, call 719-482-9826 or e-mail convention@money.org.
The National Money Show is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free.
Show highlights include the Bureau of Engraving and Printing’s $1 billion display – including examples of $100,000 bills; the redesigned $5 bill’s first public appearance in Arizona; the famous, multi-million dollar 1913 Liberty Head nickel; colorful, 19th century Arizona paper money; and displays by the United States Mint. The annual spring show also features a bourse with hundreds of dealers, dozens of exhibits in the Collector Gallery, and free educational programs and activities for children and adults.
James Mann is the event’s general chairman, Alan Herbert is the honorary chairman and Mark Lighterman is chief exhibit judge. The Phoenix Coin Club and the Mesa Coin Club are the event’s host clubs, and Heritage Auction Galleries is the official auction company.
