Palm Beach Coin Club Recieves National Coin Week Award
The winner of the American Numismatic Association’s (ANA) 2003 National Coin Week Award, presented to the club or individual who best promotes the annual observance, was announced on August 1 during the ANA’s 112th Anniversary Convention in Baltimore.
The Palm Beach (FL) Coin Club (PBCC) successfully promoted this year’s National Coin Week (April 20-26) by conducting an “open house” at the West Palm Beach Garden Club, where the group regularly holds its meetings. A special presentation based on the NCW theme “Tale of the Coin” focused on stories about coins; the people, places and objects depicted on money; and tales of collectors, past and present. Uniformed Scouts in attendance received a free gift.
The award includes a full scholarship to the ANA’s Annual Summer Seminar, which can be presented to an individual of the club’s choosing.
In bestowing the 2003 National Coin Week Award, the American Numismatic Association expresses the sincere appreciation of its members to the Palm Beach Coin Club.
