Ronald Denman appointed ANA Regional Coordinator

Ronald Denman of Kingston, Pennsylvania, has been named the American Numismatic Association’s (ANA) Regional Coordinator for Region 14, which encompasses Ohio, western Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

“Ron brings a wealth of talent and energy to this vital volunteer position,” says ANA National Coordinator Walt Ostromecki, who recommended the appointment of Denman to ANA President H. Robert Campbell.

A member of the ANA, and life member of the Pennsylvania Association of Numismatists and Wyoming Valley Coin Club, Denman says he was introduced to coin collecting in 1966 by a friend of his father, who encouraged him to collect United States issues “because of their historic nature.” During his military assignment to Germany in 1993, he served as a country ambassador under the ANA Representative Program.

Denman currently is treasurer for the Wilkes-Barre Coin Club and is a recipient of the Representative Program’s National Coordinator’s Award for Numismatic Excellence.

“I am looking forward to building a strong collector relationship among hobbyists in my region,” Denman says. “I always worked from behind the scenes to do whatever was needed for the betterment of our hobby. Now, that role will change.”

Denman replaces the late Terry Armstrong, who Ostromecki says, “Gave his all for nearly 10 years to build and promote the hobby and the ANA with members in Region 14.”
