I have decided to seek re-election to the ANA Board so that I might continue to have a hand in our Associations moving forward progress to make sure it continues to be the premier go-to educational hobby resource. Old cultural practices through joint staff and Board leadership training are being broken down and a new foundation of mutual respect and teamwork focused on ‘customer service and member value’ has begun.

Now that we are litigation free, the new Board and staff will be able to devote far more time, finances and other resources to the further development of our educational outreach mission in its many forms. I would appreciate being a pro-active member of such a Board. I have a 37 year career in Education and Administration which is a valued asset.

As president, I believe I have brought more board openness-transparency and membership trust back to the ANA, especially connecting you all through live Board meeting podcasts and audio casts. Four YN Board interns have helped add a different perspective.

In addition, I will bring eight years of Board experience in the areas such as; strategic planning, fundraising development, membership growth, continued financial prudence and club outreach focus, mediation, communication and continuing commitment to represent the ANA at shows nationwide, all at my own expense. Why? Because I have a deep passion and love for our Association and. I am a free will ANA giver not a taker!

The ANA will be faces a number of issues which the next Board must tackle; increasing Internet auction and show competition, convention site costs and tax issues, membership growth, expanding the educational content on our website for all levels of collectors and a concerted fund raising campaign with the Board leadership leading the charge by example!

I have proven myself as an ANA hobby leader and am beholding only to the entire membership. I have listened and learned from you because I have made myself both visible and accessible available to you. I ask for your vote as a candidate for the next Board.

In accordance with ANA bylaws, each candidate for ANA office must furnish a biographical sketch and platform, not exceeding 350 words in length, for publication in The Numismatist. To read the statements of the other candidates for the 2015 Board of Governors election, click here
