Who says that numismatists can’t dance? These coin collectors look like they’re enjoying some hula lessons before the convention festivities begin.

The above photo was taken at the Hawaii State Numismatic Convention in 1965. The convention took place from October 7-10 in Honolulu at the Ilikai Hotel. The HSNA hosted the event and issued 500 serially numbered sets of medals, one in silver and one in bronze. The medals were sold for $12.50 a set, limit 3 per person.

Can’t make it out to Hawaii for a convention? No problem! Coin shows and conventions are held in virtually every state across the nation this year. Many shows include coin auctions, door prizes, raffle prizes, exhibits and opportunities to buy, sell and trade. Go to the events page at https://www.money.org/events to find an event near you.
